Eagle’s Attract International Competition!

Another home game at the Floyd. L. Maines Arena, Binghamton brought in hundreds of fans eager to watch the talented NYIA Eagles player against some European competition.

New York International Academy (NYIA) in Endicott attracts basketball players from all over the world. As a post-graduate prep school NYIA hones a player’s skills on the court and to allows them to keep up with school to prepare for Division 1 teams.

Every year we bring in more and more young talent, growing every year. We aim to make our tournaments a Southern Tier basketball destination.

New York International Academy invited the Canarias Basketball Academy from Holland to square off against their teams, the NYIA Eagles.

Tristan Enaruna a young talented 15 year old basketball player from Holland who already has his mind set on his goals and hopes to make it playing college basketball said:

“My goal right now is to play division one basketball … but I hope it is an opportunity for myself to show myself a little bit”.

There are also the athletes with big ambitions at NYIA with one player who came to New York International Academy all the way from Sacramento, California and was thrilled for the opportunity to play the game he loves with international players.

He said, “People from other countries are actually really good at this sport and I think it is really good to test out competition from America to competition from other countries”.

Head Coach Young of NYIA mentioned he looks forward to possibly taking the NYIA Eagles team over to Europe in the future.
